MarineNow 10 lb Black PVC Vinyl-Coated River Anchor for Small Boats — Compact, Corrosion-Resistant Hold

MarineNow's 10 lb black PVC vinyl-coated river anchor is a freshwater anchor built to protect your boat and deliver reliable holding in mud, sand, and gravel.

Compact and thoughtfully engineered, this anchor pairs a corrosion-resistant PVC vinyl coating with a multi-bottom gripping design to give small boats, kayaks, and pontoons secure positioning without scratching finishes. It's optimized for lake and river conditions where freshwater corrosion and abrasive bottoms are the main concerns. The streamlined shape reduces snags during deployment and retrieval, and the protective coating helps keep both anchor and hull in better condition season after season.

How does this anchor protect my boat's finish?

The PVC vinyl outer layer acts as a buffer between the metal core and your hull, cutting down on direct contact that causes chips and scratches. Because the coating resists surface abrasion, it also reduces paint wear during repeated drops and pulls.

• PVC vinyl coating cushions impacts and prevents metal-to-hull contact
• Coating lowers the chance of surface rust transfer onto the boat
• Streamlined shape avoids catching ropes or hull fittings

Will a 10 lb anchor hold my boat in rivers and lakes?

The 10 lb size is recommended for boats up to about 15 feet, offering dependable holding in typical freshwater bottoms such as mud, sand, and small gravel. For heavier boats or stronger currents you should choose a larger weight from the set of available sizes.

• Designed for small boats, dinghies, and many pontoons up to ~15 ft
• Multi-bottom grip provides a secure bite in mud, sand, and gravel
• Select heavier sizes (12–30 lb) for larger boats or stronger currents

How does the anchor perform when deploying and retrieving?

The modern, tangle-free profile makes deployment smooth and keeps retrieval straightforward—less chance of fouling on chain or line. The streamlined shape and vinyl layer both make handling easier, so one person can set or pull the anchor quickly.

• Slick PVC coating prevents line snags and reduces fouling
• Balanced weight distribution helps the anchor set faster when dropped
• Compact 10 lb size is manageable for single-handed use

How should I choose the right MarineNow anchor weight for my craft?

Match the anchor size to your boat length and typical water conditions. Use the 10 lb for boats up to 15 ft; if you encounter stronger currents, deeper water, or heavier winds, step up to the next recommended size for extra holding power.

• 8 lb: kayaks, canoes, dinghies, jet skis, and very small boats
• 10 lb: boats up to 15 ft (this model)
• 12–30 lb: larger craft up to 30 ft—pick weight based on length and conditions
