Molten youth volleyball Light Touch MS240-3, Purple/Aqua, 12 in — ultra-soft, lightweight

The Molten MS240-3 Light Touch Volleyball is a 12-inch, ultra-soft, lightweight ball made for players aged 12 and under who need a gentler feel for learning and play.

This youth volleyball balances a cushioned, soft-to-the-touch polyurethane cover with construction that stands up to both indoor gym floors and outdoor parks. At a reduced weight and slightly smaller 12-inch circumference, the MS240-3 helps new players develop passing, setting, and serving technique with less sting and easier control. Note: the ball ships deflated and a pump is not included.

How does the Light Touch design help beginners?

The Light Touch construction softens impact and reduces rebound force so young players can focus on fundamentals rather than hard contact. The cushioned cover gives a forgiving surface for bumps and serves, making drills more comfortable and encouraging longer practice sessions.

• Ultra-soft polyurethane cover reduces impact feel
• Smaller 12-inch size suits smaller hands and wingspans
• Lightweight build eases serving and overhead control
• Gentle rebound helps beginners track and correct technique

Can I use this ball both indoors and outdoors?

Yes — the MS240-3 is designed for versatile play across gym floors and outdoor surfaces. The durable outer material resists scuffs and abrasions commonly found on asphalt, grass, and multi-purpose courts, while still performing well on indoor surfaces.

• Durable polyurethane withstands rougher outdoor use
• Maintains consistent feel on hardwood and gym mats
• Easy to clean after outdoor sessions

What care and setup does the ball require?

The ball ships deflated to save space in transit, so you’ll need a hand or electric pump with an inflation needle to get started. Inflate to the manufacturer’s recommended pressure for optimal feel — overinflation will make the ball too firm and change how it plays.

• Ships deflated; pump and needle not included
• Inflate gradually to reach the intended softness
• Wipe clean with a damp cloth to remove dirt and grass

How durable is the MS240-3 for regular practice?

Although softer than standard competition balls, the MS240-3 is built with durability in mind to survive repeated youth play. Its exterior resists abrasion and seams are constructed for steady performance, so it can be used for practices, PE classes, and recreational matches.

• Reinforced panels resist tearing and scuffs
• Consistent shape retention for reliable drills
• Suitable for frequent recreational and instructional use
