MSR Liquid-Fuel Stove Annual Maintenance Kit, Red — replacement o-rings, jet tool & pump cup oil

MSR's Annual Maintenance Kit for liquid-fuel stoves is a compact service pack with replacement o-rings, a jet and cable tool, pump cup oil, and a safety pin to restore reliable operation and extend stove life.

Keeping a liquid-fuel stove functioning safely and predictably requires periodic service; this MSR kit gathers the small parts and tools you need to perform annual maintenance on any MSR liquid-fuel stove and pump. Lightweight and made in the USA, the kit is designed for home-bench servicing between seasons and before extended trips so your stove starts quickly, seals properly, and maintains consistent flame control.

What parts are included and why do they matter?

The kit supplies the wear items and tools most commonly required during routine annual service: replacement o-rings to restore seals, a jet and cable tool to clean and adjust fuel passages, pump cup oil to preserve the pump cup, plus a safety pin for small disassembly tasks. Replacing degraded seals and cleaning jets prevents leaks and restores stable fuel flow.

• O-rings: replace hardened or cracked seals to stop fuel or air leaks
• Jet & cable tool: remove and clean clogged jets and tune fuel delivery
• Pump cup oil: lubricate and prolong pump cup life for reliable priming
• Safety pin: assists with small disassembly and reassembly tasks

How does this kit work with different MSR stove models?

This maintenance pack is compatible with the full line of MSR liquid-fuel stoves, including Whisperlite models and the XGK-EX. The components are sized and selected to match the common service points found across MSR liquid-fuel designs, making it a universal annual service kit for MSR systems.

• Designed to fit Whisperlite series and XGK-EX stoves
• Includes general-purpose o-rings and tools used in MSR pumps and fuel lines
• Works for fuel pumps and burner jets found across MSR liquid-fuel stoves

When should I perform maintenance and what benefits will I see?

Plan a full service at least once per year or whenever performance changes—hard starting, slow priming, or a sputtering flame indicate service is needed. After replacing seals, cleaning jets, and lubricating the pump cup you should notice easier priming, more consistent flame control, and reduced risk of leaks during use.

• Recommended: annual service or when starting issues appear
• Restores consistent fuel flow and flame stability
• Reduces chance of leaks and pump failures while in the field

How easy is the kit to use for someone who isn't a mechanic?

The kit is built for practical field-minded users: basic tools, clear parts, and a small carrying case keep everything organized. MSR stoves are designed with serviceability in mind, and the kit supplies straightforward replacement parts and a simple jet tool—most repairs are doable with minimal mechanical experience and a little patience.

• Includes a compact carrying case to keep parts organized
• Most tasks require only the supplied tools and a few minutes of care
• MSR documentation and online guides can walk you through each step

Who is this for: The MSR Annual Maintenance Kit is ideal for seasonal campers, backpackers, mountaineers, and trip leaders who use MSR liquid-fuel stoves and want to maintain top performance and safety. It’s also useful for outdoor retailers, rental programs, and guides who service multiple stoves and need a lightweight, complete set of wear parts and tools for routine upkeep.
