Nitecore NU21 Running Headlamp, White, 360 Lumens, USB-C Rechargeable, IP66 with Red Auxiliary LED

The NU21 combines high-output lighting, a breathable low‑mass design, and useful safety features in a package that weighs under 2 ounces. It offers multiple white light levels plus a red auxiliary LED, quick USB‑C charging, and a glow/reflective headband for nighttime visibility. Ruggedized to IP66 and shock resistant to 1 meter, the headlamp is built for trail runs, urban jogs, backpacking, and everyday hands‑free tasks.

How bright is the NU21 and what run times can I expect?

The headlamp puts out up to 360 lumens on its highest white output, with several lower white levels for conserving battery. Depending on the chosen mode and brightness, runtime ranges from short, powerful bursts to long endurance use—up to 37 hours on the most economical setting.

• Maximum output: 360 lumens for short-distance, high-visibility needs.
• Multiple white brightness steps to balance light and battery life.
• Eco modes extend runtime—up to 37 hours on the lowest setting.
• SOS and Beacon modes for emergency signaling and visibility.

What lighting modes and colors does it offer for running at night?

The NU21 has a primary white LED with four brightness outputs plus SOS and Beacon functions for signaling. An auxiliary red LED preserves night vision, helps with map reading or behind‑the‑runner visibility, and makes the wearer more conspicuous to traffic.

• Four white light levels for near‑field and mid‑range illumination.
• Built‑in SOS and Beacon for emergency or steady visibility modes.
• Red LED for low‑glare tasks and to enhance rear visibility to others.
• Quick switching between modes for adapting on the move.

How durable and comfortable is it for long outdoor use?

Engineered with a hollow bracket and an ultra‑light headband, the NU21 minimizes perceived weight so you hardly notice it while running. The headband includes reflective and glow‑in‑the‑dark treatments to boost visibility, while IP66 water resistance and a 1‑meter impact rating protect the lamp in weather and incidental drops.

• Weighs less than 2 ounces for minimal bounce during activity.
• Hollow bracket and slim headband reduce bulk and pressure points.
• Reflective/glow headband increases nighttime safety without batteries.
• IP66 water resistance and 1 m impact tolerance for outdoor reliability.

How fast does it recharge and what accessories are included?

Recharge via the built‑in USB‑C port to a full battery in about 1.5 hours, with an LED status indicator to show charge level. The package contains everything needed to get started: the NU21 headlamp, an adjustable headband, a USB‑C cable, and a Nitecore sticker.

• Fast USB‑C charging: full charge in roughly 1.5 hours.
• Battery status indicator to know when recharging is required.
• Included adjustable headband for a secure fit on different head sizes.
• Package contents: NU21 headlamp, headband, USB‑C cable, Nitecore sticker.

Who is this for? The Nitecore NU21 is aimed at runners, hikers, and commuters who want a very lightweight, rechargeable headlamp that delivers versatile white and red lighting, quick recharge times, and visible safety features. It’s a good match for anyone who needs reliable hands‑free illumination that won’t weigh them down on fast outings or multi‑day treks.
