Onix Z5 Graphite Pickleball Paddle for Players — Mod Blue widebody, midweight with cushion grip

The Onix Z5 Graphite pickleball paddle (Mod Blue) is a widebody, midweight performance paddle that blends a textured graphite face, a rigid Nomex honeycomb core, and a comfortable cushion grip for balanced control and responsive pop.

Built as one of Onix's longest-standing bestsellers, the Z5 Graphite is designed for players who want a dependable all-court paddle with a generous sweet spot and consistent feedback. This Mod Blue version includes a blue paddle cover and a cushion grip, making it match-ready straight from the bag. Its 8-1/8" wide hitting surface, classic paddle shape, and 7.5–8.2 oz weight range position it between lightweight maneuverability and midweight stability.

How does the Z5 Graphite help improve control and shot placement?

The Z5 combines a textured graphite surface with a rigid Nomex aramid honeycomb core to produce clear ball feedback and precise placement. The textured face enhances bite on the ball for added spin without sacrificing directional control.

• Textured graphite face increases ball contact and spin potential.
• Nomex honeycomb core delivers a firm response for accurate shots.
• Widebody shape yields a larger sweet spot for consistent returns.

What kind of power and pop can I expect from this paddle?

The Z5's rigid core produces noticeable pop on drives and volleys, translating player force efficiently into ball speed. Because the paddle is midweight (average about 7.9 oz), it balances power with control so you can attack while still managing soft touch plays at the kitchen line.

• Rigid Nomex core converts swing energy into ball speed.
• Midweight range enables both quick reactions and punchy shots.
• Balanced weight distribution helps keep volleys steady under pressure.

Is this paddle comfortable and easy to handle during long matches?

The Onix Z5 features a 5" handle and a cushion grip with a 4 1/8" circumference, offering a secure, comfortable hold for extended play. The paddle's well-balanced feel reduces wrist strain and makes transitions between forehand and backhand smoother.

• 5" handle gives reliable leverage for two-handed and one-handed shots.
• Cushion grip absorbs shock and improves comfort during long rallies.
• Balanced design minimizes fatigue and supports faster wrist action.

What are the exact dimensions and construction details I should know?

The Z5 Graphite comes with precise dimensions that favor a large hitting area and predictable handling. The paddle face includes a printed Z over a honeycomb graphic on woven black graphite for a classic, performance-oriented look.

• Paddle length: 15 1/2"; width: 8 1/8"; handle length: 5".
• Grip circumference: 4 1/8" (+/- 1/8"); weight: 7.5–8.2 oz (avg. 7.9 oz).
