Outdoor Guardian Pathfinder Sighting Compass — Mirrored Map Compass with Luminous Bezel, Adjustable Declination, Clinometer, LED & Whistle

The Outdoor Guardian Pathfinder is a multi-function sighting compass built for precise navigation, featuring a mirrored sight, global needle, adjustable declination, clinometer, luminous bezel, LED on lanyard and an emergency whistle.

Whether you’re hiking unfamiliar trails, teaching orienteering, or assembling a compact survival kit, this compass combines traditional magnetic navigation with modern practical tools. It’s engineered to give reliable bearings in both hemispheres, help you sight distant landmarks, and provide signaling and illumination when conditions grow dim. The Pathfinder packs map-measurement scales, a magnifier, and slope measurement into a waterproof housing intended for rugged outdoor use.

How does the Pathfinder deliver accurate bearings in different hemispheres?

The compass uses a global magnetic needle calibrated to work reliably in northern and southern hemispheres, and includes a declination adjustment to convert magnetic north to true north. That helps you translate map bearings into on-the-ground headings wherever you travel.

• Global needle minimizes hemisphere-specific errors
• Adjustable declination screw for map-to-field corrections
• Clear, easy-to-read dial with degree markings and luminous bezel

What navigation and measurement tools are included for map work?

Pathfinder serves as a compact map compass with six measurement scales, a 3x magnifier, and a sighting notch that lets you align the map, compass, and landmark simultaneously. Use the mirror and sighting line to take accurate bearings while keeping the dial visible.

• Six map scales for distance measurement and plotting
• 3x magnifying lens helps read map fine print or map grids
• Sighting mirror and notch enable precise landmark alignment

How does it help when visibility is poor or in emergencies?

The Pathfinder includes a luminous bezel for low-light orientation, an LED light mounted on the lanyard for close-up illumination, and a folding mirror that doubles as a signaling device. An integrated survival whistle is there to attract attention when needed.

• Luminous dial and directional markings for night or dawn navigation
• LED on lanyard provides focused light for maps or gear repairs
• Mirror works for sighting and emergency signaling; built-in whistle aids rescue

Can I measure slope and landmark height with this compass?

Yes—the Pathfinder includes a clinometer function for estimating slopes and landmark heights. Use the clinometer scale with the sighting notch to calculate gradients and help plan safe routes or estimate object elevations.

• Built-in clinometer for slope and height estimation
• Sighting mirror and notch to align with target when measuring
• Useful for terrain assessment during route planning or backcountry travel

Who this is for: hikers, backpackers, scouts, search-and-rescue volunteers, and outdoor instructors who want a compact, all-in-one navigation tool that supports map work, low-light use, and basic emergency signaling. It’s also suited to families and new outdoor enthusiasts building their first survival or navigation kit—lightweight, waterproof, and built to work across hemispheres without complicated setup.
