Schutt V-EGOP II TRAD NB facemask for Vengeance Helmets, Black, Varsity — carbon-steel open-field protection

The Schutt V-EGOP II-TRAD-NB is a carbon-steel facemask designed to attach to all sizes of Schutt Vengeance varsity helmets, optimized for skill-position players who need a balance of protection and unobstructed vision.

Built as a direct replacement facemask for the Schutt Vengeance line, the V-EGOP II-TRAD-NB combines durable carbon-steel construction with a shape tuned for ball carriers and pass catchers. Its open-field geometry gives players clear sightlines while still offering frontal and lower-face coverage. Because it fits every shell size in the Vengeance roster, it’s a straightforward upgrade or spare to keep on hand for practices, games, and equipment rotations.

What makes this facemask suitable for running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, and defensive backs?

The facemask profile prioritizes visibility and mobility, letting skill players track the ball, read defenders, and make catches without a bulky obstruction near the eyes. Its bar layout offers targeted protection around the jaw and mouth while avoiding excessive weight up front.

• Open upper vision channel for improved peripheral and upward sightlines
• Lower bars positioned to shield the mouth and chin area
• Lightweight carbon-steel for a favorable strength-to-weight ratio
• Contours that reduce snag risk on tackles and catches

How does the V-EGOP II-TRAD-NB attach and fit on Vengeance helmets?

Manufactured to Schutt’s Vengeance facemask mounting specifications, this model lines up with standard helmet clip points and screws for a secure installation. Installation is straightforward for equipment managers and follows the same hardware pattern as other Vengeance facemasks.

• Compatible with all Schutt Vengeance varsity helmet sizes and shell models
• Mounts using standard Schutt clips and screws (not included with some aftermarket sellers)
• Precise hole spacing for correct alignment and stable fitment
• Easy to swap between helmets when needed for roster changes

What are the construction and maintenance characteristics?

Made from carbon steel—the most commonly used facemask material—this model offers reliable toughness and straightforward upkeep. Routine inspection for bends, rust, or loose hardware keeps the facemask game-ready season after season.

• Carbon-steel tubing for everyday impact resistance and shape retention
• Durable finish to resist chipping; inspect for corrosion after exposure to moisture
• Clean with mild soap and water; dry thoroughly before storage
• Replace if tubing is bent, cracked, or if mounting points are compromised

Will this facemask affect helmet certifications or performance?

When installed correctly on an approved Schutt Vengeance shell, this facemask maintains the helmet’s intended protective geometry. Always follow Schutt’s installation guidelines and league rules for approved facemask configurations.

• Sized to preserve manufacturer clearance and shell integrity when attached properly
• Use only approved mounting hardware to maintain certification standards
• Check league or governing body rules for permitted facemask styles and modifications
• Consult a certified equipment manager for post-install safety checks

Who is this for: The V-EGOP II-TRAD-NB is aimed at high school and club teams, coaches, and players at skill positions—running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, and defensive backs—who want a facemask that balances clear vision, lower-face protection, and the dependable strength of carbon steel. It’s also a practical choice for equipment managers looking for a compatible replacement facemask that fits every size of the Schutt Vengeance varsity helmet line.
