SMITH Method Snow Helmet — Matte Slate Medium, Mips Protection & AirEvac Venting

The SMITH Method Helmet in Matte Slate is a medium-sized snow helmet that blends Mips impact protection, certified safety standards, and integrated venting for fog-free goggles.

Built for park laps, groomers, and variable mountain conditions, the Method balances modern safety tech with everyday comfort. It pairs a low-profile shell and the Mips Safety Protection System with ASTM F2040 and CE EN 1077:2007 Class B certifications, giving riders dependable protection while prioritizing cooling, fit, and audio compatibility.

How does the Method manage impacts and meet safety standards?

The helmet uses a Mips low-friction liner to reduce rotational forces on the head during oblique impacts. Smith also engineered the shell and EPS liner to meet widely recognized snow-sport certifications so you can ride with verified protection levels.

• Mips Safety Protection System installed inside the helmet
• Certified to ASTM F2040 for snow-sport helmets
• Complies with CE EN 1077:2007 Class B standards
• EPS foam and durable outer shell construction for energy absorption

What features keep goggles clear and ventilation effective?

Ventilation is handled through eight fixed vents and Smith’s AirEvac channeling, designed to pull warm, moist air away from goggles. That reduces fogging and helps maintain a consistent internal climate while you ride hard.

• Eight fixed vents for steady airflow
• AirEvac integration directs vented air through goggle channels
• Compatible with a wide range of Smith goggles for tight seals
• Passive vent layout requires no manual adjustments

Can I customize fit, comfort, and audio on the Method helmet?

The Method uses a self-adjusting lifestyle fit system that conforms to your head shape for an even, secure feel. Removable Snapfit SL2 ear pads add warmth and accept optional audio chips so you can add speakers without compromising fit.

• Self-adjusting fit system flexes to match head contours
• Removable Snapfit SL2 ear pads for warmth and comfort
• Audio-chip compatible ear pads let you install speakers
• Beanie compatible for extra layering under the helmet

The listed size is Medium in a Matte Slate finish — a neutral, low-glare color that works across helmets and goggles. The design emphasizes user-friendly features so you get protective performance without complicated adjustments or bulky bulk.
