Stansport Yukon Deluxe Gold Panning Kit, Deluxe + Pick, 12-Piece Prospecting Set with 10.5" & 14" Pans and Classifier

The Stansport Yukon Deluxe Gold Panning Kit is a ready-to-use 12-piece prospecting set that includes two pans, classifier, tools and recovery gear to start finding and saving fine gold.

This all-in-one kit bundles the core equipment novices and casual prospectors need to learn modern placer techniques without buying separate pieces. Built for portability and outdoor use, the set combines a 10.5" and 14" pan, a fine mesh classifier, sampling tools and containers so you can sample riffles, tailraces and streambeds right away. Components nest and pack easily into a pack or vehicle for day trips, classroom demos or family outings.

What tools are included and how do they work together?

The kit brings together pans, sifting gear and recovery tools that let you separate sediment, concentrate heavy material, and pick out visible flecks. Each tool has a defined role so you can move from sampling to cleanup without improvising.

• 10.5" and 14" pans — two sizes for fine-tuning your technique and panning with a partner.
• 3/8" mesh classifier — separates larger rocks and debris before panning to speed processing.
• Hand trowel and prospector's rock pick — for digging and prying material from promising spots.
• Snuffer bottle, tweezers with magnifier, and gold vials (1 oz. and 1/2 oz.) — for safe, precise recovery and secure storage.

How do I use the pans and classifier in the field?

Start by loosening bank material with the trowel or rock pick, then pour through the classifier to remove oversized rocks. Work small batches in the pan, using a combination of submersion, gentle agitation and controlled water flow to concentrate heavier grains toward the center and bottom.

• Classify samples over a bucket to minimize mess and speed repeats.
• Use the larger 14" pan for bulk sampling, and the 10.5" pan for detailed cleanup.
• Finish with the snuffer bottle and tweezers to extract and store fine particles safely.

What maintenance and care will keep this kit working?

Rinse components with fresh water after each use and allow them to dry to prevent grit buildup and corrosion on any metal parts. Store vials and small pieces inside a secure container or pack pocket to avoid losing tiny items between trips.

• Flush pans and classifier to remove trapped sand and organic matter.
• Dry metal tools and store away from prolonged moisture to prevent stains.
• Keep tweezers, snuffer bottle and vials in a padded pocket to protect fragile items.

Where can I legally prospect and are there safety tips to follow?

Always confirm local, state and landowner rules before panning; many areas allow casual hand panning but restrict mechanized or ground-disturbing activity. Use appropriate footwear, watch for changing river conditions, and follow Low Impact practices to minimize your footprint.

• Check land access and permit requirements for public and private waterways.
• Wear boots, gloves and eye protection when digging or prying rocks.
• Pack out all trash and refill any holes to leave the site undisturbed.
