Supacaz Super Sticky Kush bar tape — Oil Slick, high-grip triple-layer with matching Star Plugz

Supacaz Super Sticky Kush - Splat in Oil Slick with matching Oil Slick Star Plugz is high-grip, triple-layer handlebar tape designed for secure control and vibrant style on road and gravel bikes.

Built around a three-layer construction that balances cushioning, tack, and durability, this edition pairs Supacaz's signature ultra-sticky surface with an iridescent Oil Slick finish and coordinating Star Plugz. The tape fits standard drop bars, resists shifting in wet conditions, and adds a bold visual accent for riders who want both performance and flair.

What makes the Super Sticky Kush different from other bar tapes?

The Super Sticky Kush combines a soft foam core, a dense middle layer for support, and a textured outer skin that maximizes grip without feeling slick. Its adhesive-backed design reduces wrap slippage and the supple feel helps damp vibrations while preserving precise brake and shift feel.

• Three-layer construction: foam core, support layer, grippy outer surface.
• High-tack outer skin keeps hands secure in dry and damp conditions.
• Integrated adhesive prevents unraveling and simplifies installation.
• Oil Slick color provides an iridescent, multi-tone finish that changes with light.

How will this tape perform during long rides and varied weather?

Designed for endurance and everyday use, Super Sticky Kush maintains its comfort and traction over extended miles. The foam layer reduces hand fatigue while the tacky surface keeps contact secure when hands are sweaty or when riding through light rain.

• Durable outer layer resists abrasion and holds up to repeated use.
• Breathable feel that avoids becoming overly sticky in heat.
• Performs well in light moisture without losing grip.
• Easy to clean—wipes down with mild soap and water.

How easy is it to install and what’s included with Oil Slick Star Plugz?

Installation is straightforward: unwrap and spiral the tape along each bar, overlapping to achieve desired thickness; the self-adhesive backing secures the tape in place. Each kit includes a pair of Oil Slick Star Plugz that press-fit into the bar ends for a finished look and added protection.

• Self-adhesive backing simplifies application and reduces the need for extra tape.
• Supplied finishing tape and end plugs for a tidy, professional result.
• Star Plugz are compatible with standard drop-bar internal diameters.
• Removable without damaging the handlebar surface if you want to change styles.

Will the Oil Slick finish match my bike and how does it age?

The Oil Slick effect shifts between dark metallic hues depending on angle and light, offering a versatile accent that complements both matte and glossy frames. With normal use it retains color depth; occasional cleaning helps maintain the iridescent sheen.

• Iridescent finish pairs well with black, chrome, and colorful frames alike.
• Resistant to fading under typical outdoor conditions.
• Minor scuffs may occur over time but do not affect grip or function.
• Use mild soap and a soft cloth to restore shine without damaging the surface.
