Survival Frog Tact Bivvy 2.0 HeatEcho emergency sleeping bag, New 2.0 Tactical Green, ultra‑light waterproof thermal shelter

The Tact Bivvy® 2.0 HeatEcho® is an ultra-compact, waterproof emergency bivy that reflects body heat to help retain warmth while weighing under 5 ounces.

If you need a lightweight, packable thermal shelter that won’t add bulk to your kit, this survival bivy is built for fast deployment and high-visibility rescue situations. Constructed from reflective HeatEcho polyester film with taped seams, the Tact Bivvy 2.0 compresses into a small stuff sack and includes a carabiner, whistle and para-tinder drawcord for multi-use functionality. It’s designed to serve as a last-resort sleeping bag, a liner to boost warmth, or a lightweight protective layer against wind and rain.

How does the Tact Bivvy 2.0 keep you warm?

Its HeatEcho reflective film bounces a large portion of your radiant body heat back toward you, improving insulation without adding bulk. The material is designed to limit heat loss from radiation, which helps maintain a higher microclimate around your body.

• Reflects up to 90% of radiant body heat.
• Can raise perceived temperature by about 20°F when used as a liner.
• Taped seams reduce drafts and moisture ingress.

Will it stand up to wind, rain, or rough use?

Despite its featherlight weight, the film construction and reinforced seams deliver surprising strength and weather resistance. The bivy is fully waterproof and windproof for short-term protection in emergency scenarios.

• 100% waterproof material prevents soaking through.
• Tear-resistant polyester film withstands abrasion and movement.
• Reinforced taped seams improve durability at stress points.

What extras are included and how can they help in an emergency?

The Tact Bivvy 2.0 comes with practical attachments that extend functionality beyond shelter. The drawstring is a para-tinder paracord for cordage or fire-starting, and an integrated whistle and carabiner make signaling and transport simpler.

• Para-tinder drawcord can be used as cordage or to ignite a fire.
• 120-decibel whistle allows audible signaling to rescuers.
• Carabiner offers quick attachment to packs or gear loops.

How compact is it and how do you carry it?

The bivy compresses into a tiny oversized stuff sack and weighs just 4.8 ounces, making it easy to stow in everyday carry or a grab-and-go kit. Its small packed size means you can keep one in a vehicle, backpack, or emergency pack without sacrificing space.

• Weighs approximately 4.8 ounces for ultralight portability.
• Fits into a small stuff sack that clips to packs with the carabiner.
• Designed to accommodate users up to 7 feet tall.

Who is this for? The Tact Bivvy 2.0 is intended for hikers, vehicle emergency kits, outdoor workers, and anyone assembling a compact survival or 72-hour emergency kit. It’s especially useful when weight and space are limited but reliable shelter and signaling are essential. Keep it with your camping gear as a liner to boost warmth, toss it in your car for roadside emergencies, or include it in a bug-out bag for rapid evacuation scenarios.
