Tenergy 9.6V NiMH Butterfly Battery Pack Combo — 1600mAh 2-Pack with Mini Tamiya + Charger

Tenergy's combo includes two 9.6V 1600mAh NiMH "butterfly" battery packs and a compatible charger for reliable power in airsoft AEGs.

Designed for skirmish and weekend play, this bundle pairs two cylindrical 8-cell NiMH packs (butterfly-style) with a Tenergy 6V–12V charger so you can swap batteries quickly and keep your AEG running. The packs use a mini Tamiya connector and compact dimensions to fit many common airsoft rifles and SMGs; they prioritize steady voltage delivery and straightforward charging over overly complex electronics.

Which guns will these Tenergy batteries fit?

These butterfly-style packs were made to fit inside stock and handguard compartments of a wide range of AEG platforms. The compact cylindrical cells and mini Tamiya plug match the layout used by many M4 variants and classic European platforms.

• Common fits: M4, M4A1, CAR15, M14, MP5A5, AUG, G36, G3 series.
• Also compatible with crane and fixed stocks like M249, M240B housings that accept cylinder packs.
• Mini Tamiya connector suits most stock airsoft wiring harnesses; measure compartment length before buying for modified AEGs.

How long will the batteries power my AEG and how quickly do they charge?

Runtime varies with weapon rate of fire, gear ratio, and semi/full-auto use, but 1600mAh gives a solid balance between capacity and compact size for typical skirmishes. The included Tenergy charger supports the NiMH chemistry and restores the pack in a reasonable time when used at the recommended charge rate.

• 1600mAh capacity: suitable for several matches depending on trigger usage.
• Charger compatibility: works across 6V–12V NiMH packs; follow charging instructions for best life.
• Quick swaps: two-pack lets you replace depleted battery instantly between skirmishes.

What are the physical specs and connector details I need to know?

Each battery is built from eight 2/3A NiMH cells arranged in a butterfly configuration to save space while delivering 9.6 volts nominal. The pack includes a mini Tamiya female connector fitted with 16 AWG wire, ready to plug into most AEG harnesses without soldering.

• Dimensions: approximately 20mm diameter x 117mm length per cylindrical cell grouping.
• Weight: about 6.7 ounces per pack—light enough to avoid upsetting balance in most stocks.
• Connector: mini Tamiya female with 16 AWG wire for standard airsoft wiring compatibility.

Are these batteries safe and easy to maintain?

NiMH chemistry is robust and forgiving compared with some high-energy alternatives; basic care—proper charging and storage—keeps performance consistent. Use the supplied charger and avoid over-discharge to maximize cycle life, and inspect connectors and wiring before each use.

• Use the included Tenergy charger and follow charge-time recommendations.
• Store partially charged if unused for long periods to preserve capacity.
• Check connectors and insulation regularly for wear or loose contacts.

Who is this for? This Tenergy combo suits airsoft players who want dependable, easily swappable power for mid- to high-rate AEGs without fuss. It’s a practical choice for skirmishers using platforms that accept cylindrical/butterfly packs, players who prefer mini Tamiya connectors, and anyone who wants a ready-to-use pair plus a charger for weekend play or backup power.
