WILSON Luminous Glow Basketball 29.5" — Glow-Activated Indoor/Outdoor Ball with Grip & Bounce

The Wilson Luminous Glow Basketball is a size 7, glow-activated indoor/outdoor basketball that lights up when exposed to a phone flashlight or sunlight.

Designed for 12-and-up players who want practice that extends into dusk, the Luminous Glow blends Wilson’s proven construction with a light-trapping cover that charges in daylight and reacts to a smartphone flashlight for custom glow patterns. The ball retains the grip, bounce, and durability typical of Wilson indoor/outdoor models while adding visibility and a fun, visual twist to evening play.

How does the glow feature work and how do I activate it?

The glow layer uses a Luminous technology cover that stores light energy and emits it in low-light conditions. For stronger or patterned illumination, briefly shine your phone’s flashlight across the surface to create streaks or designs that remain visible for several minutes.

• Charge by exposing the ball to direct sunlight or artificial light.
• Use a phone flashlight for quick, localized glow effects.
• Glow intensity and duration vary with exposure time and light strength.
• No batteries or electronics required—purely light-reactive material.

Is the Wilson Luminous Glow suitable for indoor and outdoor play?

Yes — this model is engineered as an indoor/outdoor basketball, combining weather-resistant materials with a durable core to withstand pavement and gym floors. Its tactile surface preserves grip across both settings so playability remains consistent.

• Durable composite cover designed for asphalt, concrete, and hardwood.
• Premium core for reliable bounce and shape retention game after game.
• Stitched or molded seams to balance control and longevity.
• Visible in low light, improving playability after sunset.

What size is the ball and who should use a 29.5" basketball?

This listing is for the 29.5" (size 7) version, the standard size for boys age 12 and older and adult men. Wilson also produces 27.5" and 28.5" variants for younger players, so choose based on age and hand size for best handling and skill development.

• Size 7 / 29.5" — recommended for boys 12+ and adult men.
• 28.5" option available for teens and many women players.
• 27.5" option for younger children and early skill learners.
• Select size for proper wrist control and shooting form.

How durable is the Luminous Glow compared with standard Wilson balls?

The Luminous Glow shares Wilson’s premium core construction and is built to deliver season-long durability and consistent shape retention. The luminous cover is designed to withstand routine outdoor surfaces while keeping its reactive properties through normal play.

• Premium core maintains bounce and resists deformation.
• Composite cover resists scuffs and abrasions on outdoor courts.
• Maintains glow function through typical wear and tear.
• Recommended inflation and routine cleaning preserve performance.

Who is this for: Players who train or play into dusk and want more visibility without electronics, coaches running after-school or evening sessions, and recreational players looking for a fun, eye-catching ball. It’s ideal for athletes who need a regulation-size 29.5" game feel combined with the novelty and practicality of glow technology — no batteries required, only light.
