HEAD Graphene XT Speed S Tennis Racquet, 27 in, 4 1/4 inches Grip, 100 sq. in. Head & Pre-Strung

The HEAD Graphene XT Speed S is a 27-inch, pre-strung graphite tennis racquet engineered for intermediate players seeking a balanced mix of maneuverability, responsive feel, and accessible power.

Built around HEAD's Graphene XT construction, this Speed S model delivers a consistently playable platform across the baseline, net, and transition game. With a 100 sq. in. head, a 16x19 string pattern pre-strung with HEAD Synthetic Gut, and a slightly thicker 22.5 mm beam, it blends spin potential and stability without demanding excessive swing speed. The racquet's nearly even balance and 303 g (strung) weight allow players to generate pace while maintaining control.

How does the Speed S perform for intermediate players?

For mid-level competitors, the Speed S balances forgiveness and feedback so you can improve strokes without compromising safety. The racquet’s weight and balance make it easy to redirect pace and develop consistent shot patterns during practice and matches.

• Strung weight 303.3 g (10.7 oz) for controlled power.
• 100 sq. in. head for a reliable sweet spot.
• 1-point head-light balance for maneuverability at the net.
• 16x19 string pattern increases topspin potential.

What kind of feel and control can I expect?

The Graphene XT material yields a crisp, responsive contact that helps players sense ball location and spin. The Speed S gives a straightforward, communicative feel—helpful when dialing in technique or adjusting string tension.

• Graphene XT construction for stable energy transfer and feedback.
• 22.5 mm beam that combines a touch of power with controllability.
• Pre-strung with HEAD Synthetic Gut for consistent tension and playability out of the box.

Will this racquet help me generate spin and pace?

Yes. The open 16x19 string pattern encourages bite on the ball, making topspin and kick serves easier to produce without excessive effort. The head size and beam geometry also assist in turning racquet speed into forward and vertical spin.

• Open string pattern supports heavier topspin trajectories.
• 100 in² head size helps find the stringbed even on off-center strikes.
• 27" length keeps swing mechanics traditional for consistent power transfer.

How does the Speed S compare in maneuverability and net play?

Because the Speed S is nearly evenly balanced and only slightly head-light, it maneuvers well for fast exchanges and volleys. Players who like to transition to the net will notice reliable response and control during quick reflex shots.

• 1 pt head-light balance enhances quick handling at the net.
• Light-to-midweight strung mass helps maintain racquet speed on reaction shots.
• Standard 4 1/4 grip fits many adult players for comfort and control.

Who is this racquet for? The HEAD Graphene XT Speed S is aimed at intermediate adult players who want a versatile, easy-to-handle racket that supports development across all court areas. If you seek dependable feel, spin-friendly response, and a platform that performs well in rallies, serves, and net exchanges without demanding a pro-level swing, this racquet fits that need. It’s a strong option for club players, high-level recreational competitors, and those moving up from beginner frames who need a balanced upgrade with ready-to-play stringing.
