MVP Disc Sports Wave Distance Driver — Eclipse Glow 2.0, 170–175g Speed 11 Stable-Understable Glide

The MVP Disc Sports Eclipse Glow 2.0 Wave is a 170–175g, speed-11 distance driver engineered to deliver long, controllable turnovers, reliable hyzerflips, and extended glide in daylight or after dark.

Built on MVP’s Wave platform, this disc blends a stable-understable flight with a 21 mm rim profile to suit a wide range of throwers, from developing players to seasoned competitors. The Eclipse Glow 2.0 plastic adds high-visibility glow performance plus robust durability, and the Wave’s responsiveness helps translate both power and finesse into predictable lines. PDGA approval makes it legal for tournament play, so you can trust its flight numbers on the scorecard.

How does the Wave behave on powerful drives?

When thrown with full power the Wave tends to hold a long turnover before finishing with a mild fade, giving distance-seekers a dependable long flight. Its stable-understable nature prevents immediate hooks while still allowing the disc to tip into turn when the speed is high.

• Speed 11 rim for maximum carry and top-end velocity.
• Turn -2 produces a predictable early flight bend under speed.
• Fade 2 ensures a controllable finish without hard flaring at the end.
• 21 mm class rim balances distance with manageable release comfort.

Can less-powerful players use the Wave effectively?

The Wave’s responsiveness makes it accessible for moderate-power throws: it lengthens lines and allows controlled anhyzers and hyzerflips without demanding elite arm speed. The disc will often fly straighter for average arm torque, giving extra glide and reliable landing patterns.

• Stable-understable profile helps the disc glide rather than fight to fade.
• Glide 5 boosts carry on lower-power releases for extended distance.
• Weight range 170–175g offers consistent feel and reliable flight numbers.
• Suitable for learning turnover shapes and hyzerflip shots safely.

What advantages does Eclipse Glow 2.0 plastic provide?

Eclipse Glow 2.0 combines daytime color clarity with nighttime visibility thanks to its glow additives, so you can track drives in low light. The formula is also engineered for toughness, keeping rim integrity and flight consistency through heavy use.

• High-visibility glow helps locate discs after dusk.
• Durable compound resists wear and preserves flight over time.
• Consistent rim stiffness maintains reliable release characteristics.
• Premium feel on the hand for secure grip in varied conditions.

Is this disc legal for competitive play and what shots is it best for?

Yes — the Wave in Eclipse Glow 2.0 is PDGA approved for tournament use. It’s tailored for long distances where turnovers, hyzerflips, and headwind-assisted lines are desired, bridging the gap between maximum-speed distance drivers and more controllable fairway shaping discs.

• PDGA approval ensures acceptance in sanctioned events.
• Excellent for distance drives that need a long gentle turn.
• Works well for controlled hyzerflip and headwind turnover shots.
• Versatile across power levels, from growing arms to experienced players.

Who is this for: The MVP Eclipse Glow 2.0 Wave is aimed at players seeking a fast yet manageable distance driver that performs across different arm speeds.
