Alleson Athletic Orange Scrimmage Helmet Covers 12-Pack, Stretch Cotton-Lycra with 0.5in Elastic Grip

Alleson Athletic Orange Scrimmage Helmet Covers are stretch-fit nylon-cotton covers that slip over standard practice helmets to provide team color coordination and light surface protection.

These scrimmage covers are constructed from a cotton-Lycra blend designed to withstand repeated use during practices, P.E. sessions, and scrimmage games. Supplied as a 12-pack in bright orange, each cover stretches to fit most standard helmets and secures with a half-inch elastic hem that includes a grip to reduce shifting. They are a low-cost, high-visibility solution for coaches and athletic directors who need an easy way to identify teams, reinforce school colors, or extend helmet surface life without altering equipment.

How durable are these covers for regular practice use?

The covers combine 90% cotton with 10% Lycra to balance softness and stretch while resisting tearing from routine handling. Lycra adds recovery so the fabric holds its shape after repeated stretches, while the cotton keeps the surface comfortable to touch and breathable.

• 90% cotton, 10% Lycra fabric blend for repeated stretch and recovery
• Machine-washable construction for easy cleaning after practices
• Seams designed to withstand regular donning and removal

Will one size really fit most helmets?

Yes—these covers are made with elasticized openings and a forgiving fabric composition so a single size accommodates the majority of standard practice and youth helmets. The Lycra content allows the cover to expand without tearing and then return to shape.

• Stretch fabric fits a wide range of helmet shell shapes and sizes
• 0.5 in. elastic bottom with built-in grip holds the cover in place
• Good for school, league, and P.E. helmets commonly used in team programs

How do these covers help during scrimmages or drills?

Bright orange covers make it quick to distinguish teams or practice groups, reducing confusion in fast-paced drills. They also limit direct contact with helmet shells, which helps preserve paint and decals during non-contact sessions and drills.

• High-visibility orange improves player recognition on the field
• Protects helmet finish from scuffs during practice and transport
• Quick to remove and replace between drills or team rotations

What features keep the cover securely in place?

The hem features a half-inch elastic band combined with a gripping surface that resists upward or lateral movement during activity. This design minimizes the need for frequent adjustments so players can focus on drills rather than equipment.

• 0.5 in. elastic hem for a snug fit around the helmet rim
• Grip-enhanced band reduces slipping during movement
• Stretch fabric helps maintain contact over helmet contours

Who is this for? Coaches, athletic directors, P.E. teachers, and league organizers who need an economical way to color-code players or protect helmet surfaces will find these Alleson Athletic covers useful. They’re ideal for middle and high school programs, youth leagues, and practice-only settings where quick identification and easy maintenance matter. Supplied as a 12-pack in vivid orange, they work well as spares for teams or for stocking multiple helmets in a program.
