Cliff Keen Youth Wrestling Headgear — Signature Black, Lightweight Polycarbonate Protection

Cliff Keen Youth Signature Wrestling Headgear in black is a lightweight, nearly indestructible youth headgear built from a polycarbonate composite shell and adjustable straps to protect young wrestlers while keeping comfort and fit top priority.

This youth-focused version of Cliff Keen's classic Signature Headgear adapts the E41 lineage into a smaller profile that still delivers durable impact resistance and tournament-ready comfort. Designed for practices, weekend tournaments, and first-time competitors, it balances protection, breathability, and a secure fit without adding bulk. The black finish offers a clean, team-friendly look that pairs with most singlets and warmups.

How does the headgear protect without feeling heavy?

The core protective element is a polycarbonate composite inner shell that’s engineered to be remarkably strong while staying light. Padding and strap placement spread pressure evenly, so the headgear resists hard impacts yet remains comfortable during long matches and multi-match tournaments.

• Polycarbonate composite shell for high strength-to-weight ratio
• Contoured padding reduces pressure points across ears and temples
• Ventilation channels maintain airflow to minimize sweat buildup

Will this fit younger athletes and adjust as they grow?

The Cliff Keen Youth Signature uses a four-strap adjustable system to create a personalized fit for a wide range of youth head sizes. Each strap can be tightened or loosened independently, and the chin strap pad enhances stability so the headgear stays put during dynamic movement.

• Four adjustable straps for tailored secure fit
• Chin strap pad included for added comfort and stability
• Smaller youth-specific shell size mirrors adult protection in compact form

How does this model compare to the adult Signature or other youth options?

This youth model maintains the protective architecture of the adult Signature/E41 family but in a scaled-down footprint suitable for smaller heads. It offers equivalent materials and construction quality while prioritizing a snug, less-bulky profile so young wrestlers can move freely.

• Based on the legendary E41 design trusted by multiple generations
• Smaller shell and strap lengths optimized for youth anatomy
• Equal protection performance to larger Signature models in compact size

What extra accessories or care tips should I know about?

The headgear ships with a chin strap pad and accepts the optional CSM chin cup (sold separately) for those who want additional chin cushioning. Regularly wipe the interior padding after use, air-dry fully, and avoid prolonged sun exposure to keep the polycarbonate composite and straps in peak condition.

• Chin strap pad included; compatible with optional CSM chin cup
• Hand-wipe inner padding after each use and air-dry thoroughly
• Avoid machine washing and extended heat or sun exposure to preserve shell and straps

Who is this for? It’s especially well suited for kids who need a true youth-sized shell with the same robust construction as adult competitive headgear, offering a balance of comfort, adjustability, and tournament-ready durability.
