Discraft Ultra-Star 175g Ultimate Sport Disc — 2-Pack Glow, Competition Weight & Contoured Rim

The Discraft Ultra-Star 175 gram sport disc is the official, tournament-grade Ultimate disc, now offered as a two-pack with glow-in-the-dark discs for evening play.

The Ultra-Star has been engineered for competitive Ultimate play and recreational throwing, combining a predictable flight profile, a comfortable contoured rim, and strict 175-gram weight compliance that makes it the standard choice for leagues and casual players alike. This two-pack includes glow-in-the-dark discs so you can extend play into low-light conditions while keeping the same trusted feel and performance as daylight discs.

Why do players prefer the Ultra-Star for official Ultimate games?

Players choose the Ultra-Star because it meets the weight, size, and flight characteristics required by organized competition. Its molded rim and balanced construction produce consistent flights, which makes throws and catches more repeatable across different skill levels and conditions.

• Exact 175-gram competition weight for standardized play
• Contoured grip designed for secure handling and clean releases
• Engineered for stable, predictable flight paths
• Approved and used by USA Ultimate Championship events

How does the glow feature affect practice and night play?

Glow discs allow you to keep playing after dusk without sacrificing the feel of a regulation disc. The glow material increases visibility in low light, making passes and positioning easier to judge when natural light fades.

• Glow-in-the-dark material charges from sunlight or strong artificial light
• Maintains the same weight and balance as non-glow Ultra-Star discs
• Suitable for evening scrimmages, casual night games, and camp use
• Two discs included to keep rotation and practice uninterrupted

What should I expect from its grip and handling during throws?

The Ultra-Star’s rim is contoured for a secure but comfortable hold, supporting a range of throws from backhands to hammers. The rim profile and plastic choice provide a consistent release feel, which helps with accuracy and control as you develop technique.

• Contoured rim improves finger placement and release consistency
• Firm plastic resists warping and preserves flight characteristics
• Balanced molding reduces wobble on throws and catches
• Works well for beginners and advanced throwers refining accuracy

How durable is this disc for frequent outdoor use?

Manufactured with durable competition-grade plastic, the Ultra-Star is built to withstand routine outdoor play and typical field impacts. While all plastics wear over time, the Ultra-Star’s construction is designed to keep its shape and flight traits through regular seasons of use.

• Competition-grade plastic resists deformation from impact and sun exposure
• Consistent molding helps discs remain true to flight even after extended use
• Easy to clean and maintain for long-term performance
• Pack of two gives a spare should one get lost or damaged

Who is this for: The Discraft Ultra-Star 175g two-pack with glow discs suits players who want an authentic, competition-spec disc for league play, coaches who need reliable practice equipment, and recreational groups who like night games. It’s ideal for anyone—from beginners learning throws to veterans seeking a dependable, regulation-weight disc with added low-light visibility.
