Giro Kids Snow Helmet Crue MIPS, Matte Black, Size M — Hard-Shell Protection with Auto Loc 2 Fit

Giro's Crue MIPS kids snow helmet in matte black is a lightweight, hard-shell youth helmet with MIPS impact protection, self-adjusting fit, and vents made to pair seamlessly with Giro youth goggles.

The Crue MIPS blends durable construction and child-friendly fit features so young skiers and snowboarders stay comfortable and protected on the hill. This model in size M (55.5–59 cm) offers a robust hard shell over EPS foam, Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) technology, and Giro’s Auto Loc 2 fit system so adjustments are quick and secure. It also includes thoughtful venting and removable ear pads for seasonal flexibility.

How does the Crue MIPS protect my child on the slopes?

The helmet combines a molded hard outer shell with an EPS foam liner to absorb impacts, plus MIPS to reduce rotational forces in oblique impacts. It’s engineered to meet rigorous safety standards while keeping weight low for comfortable all-day wear.

• Hard shell construction bonded to EPS foam for reliable impact absorption.
• MIPS low-friction layer to help manage rotational energy.
• Removable ear pads and durable straps that maintain fit under movement.

How will the fit system simplify adjusting the helmet?

Giro’s Auto Loc 2 fit system is self-adjusting and simple to set, making it fast for caregivers to get the correct circumference on younger heads. The system has three size settings and vertical tuning so you can fine-tune position without removing goggles or the helmet.

• Auto Loc 2 self-adjusting band adapts to head shape for steady hold.
• Three circumference settings for quick, age-appropriate sizing.
• On-the-fly Vertical Tuning aligns helmet and goggles without removal.

Will the helmet keep goggles fog-free and feet comfortable?

The Crue MIPS features Stack Vent placement that aligns with goggles to improve airflow across the lens face and reduce fogging. Super Cool Vents at the top of the helmet let warm air escape, helping regulate temperature during active runs.

• Stack Vent in the front improves goggle airflow and reduces lens fog.
• Super Cool Vents on top move hot air away from the head for comfort.
• Vent design balances ventilation with coverage for cold-weather riding.

Which Giro goggles pair best and what extra features does this helmet include?

Giro engineers the Crue MIPS to work closely with its youth goggle lineup for consistent fit and coverage. Recommended pairings vary by helmet size; the helmet also supports removable features and audio compatibility for added versatility.

• Seamless Compatibility with Giro youth goggles for matched fit and seal.
• Recommended goggles: Chico 2.0 for XS; Buster and Stomp for S and M sizes.
• Includes removable goggle retainer, ear pads, and aftermarket audio compatibility.
