Giro Register MIPS Cycling Helmet — Matte Portaro Grey 54–61 cm, 22 Vents & MIPS Protection

The Giro Register MIPS is a lightweight, well-ventilated cycling helmet with MIPS technology and Giro’s Universal Fit sizing for reliable everyday protection.

Designed for riders who want solid crash-mitigation features without bulky weight, the Register MIPS brings Giro’s lab-tested construction, 22 vents, and in-mold durability into a single commuter-to-trail-capable helmet. Its matte Portaro Grey finish pairs understated style with practical performance, and the Universal Fit system helps achieve a secure, comfortable fit right out of the box.

How does the Register MIPS improve safety compared with a standard helmet?

The Register adds a low-friction MIPS layer that helps manage rotational forces during an angled impact, complementing the helmet’s tough in-mold shell and energy-absorbing liner. Giro developed this model and validated its performance in their in-house test lab.

• MIPS layer to reduce rotational energy transfer
• In-mold construction for light, strong impact absorption
• Designed and tested in Giro’s helmet lab for consistent standards

Will this helmet stay comfortable and cool on longer rides?

Yes — the Register features 22 vents and internal channeling to move air across the head, keeping temperatures manageable during extended rides. The combination of ventilation and a snug retention system makes it suitable for varied intensity levels.

• 22 vents with internal air channels for improved airflow
• Padded liners that wick moisture for added comfort
• Universal Fit sizing reduces pressure points and slippage

How do I get the correct fit with the Universal Fit sizing?

Universal Fit simplifies sizing so the helmet fits well across a wide head shape range; for this model Giro specifies a size range of 54–61 cm. Use the adjustable rear dial and straps to fine-tune tension and position until the helmet feels stable and level.

• Fits 54–61 cm head circumference with a single size shell
• Rear adjustment dial for micro-tuning fit
• Low-profile straps to secure the helmet without discomfort

What certifications and use cases is the Register MIPS built for?

The helmet meets the U.S. CPSC standard for bicycle helmets intended for riders aged five and older, making it compliant for road, commuter, and recreational cycling. Its balanced mix of ventilation, protection, and durability suits daily commuting, light touring, and off-road trail riding.

• CPSC-certified for bicycle use in the U.S.
• Sport type: Cycling — commuter, recreational, light trail
• Rugged in-mold shell that stands up to everyday wear

Who is this for? The Giro Register MIPS is aimed at cyclists who want a dependable, easy-to-fit helmet with up-to-date impact-mitigation technology and strong ventilation. If you commute, run regular weekend rides, or need a solid all-around helmet with a discreet matte finish, this model delivers practical safety and comfort without excess bulk.
