Giro Surface S Ski Helmet - Size Large

The Giro Surface S is a hard-shell ski and snowboard helmet with 23 vent ports, the In Form fit system, and a half-shell profile built for reliable on-mountain protection and comfort.

Engineered for downhill days where durability, ventilation, and an adjustable fit matter, the Surface S blends a tough outer shell with practical ventilation and Giro’s In Form sizing. It’s designed to feel stable with a low-profile shape while delivering airflow through numerous vent channels that have mesh covers to keep debris out. The half-shell silhouette keeps weight down and simplifies layering with goggles and neckwear.

How does the Surface S manage airflow on warm-sun or high-effort days?

The helmet uses 23 strategically placed vent ports with mesh covers to move air across the head and shed heat during activity. Vents promote continuous circulation while the mesh keeps snow and debris from entering.

• 23 super-cool vents positioned for active airflow
• Mesh-covered openings to block snow and larger particles
• Channels that guide air across the helmet liner for efficient cooling

What kind of protection and build does the hard shell provide?

The Surface S features a robust hard-shell construction that resists impacts and abrasion, ideal for rental-style durability or regular mountain use. The half-shell design keeps protective coverage where it counts while trimming excess weight.

• Durable outer shell for long-lasting surface protection
• Half-shell profile balances coverage and low weight
• Secure fit that works well with goggles and outer layers

How does the In Form Fit System improve comfort and fit?

Giro’s In Form Fit System lets you fine-tune the circumference quickly so the helmet stays centered and snug without pressure points. The system is simple to adjust on the lift or at the trailhead, allowing the same helmet to suit multiple users or changing conditions.

• Tool-free dial adjusts helmet circumference precisely
• Even pressure distribution enhances comfort for long days
• Keeps goggles aligned with the helmet’s rim for consistent sightlines

How does the Surface S fit into everyday mountain use?

The helmet’s combination of ventilation, a tough shell, and an adjustable fit makes it a practical choice for both resort laps and park sessions. It’s easy to pair with different goggle styles and fits well under hoods or beanies when needed.

• Low-profile shape fits smoothly with goggles and outerwear
• Mesh vents reduce snow ingress during falls or heavy flurries
• Durability suited to frequent use or multi-user programs
