HEAD Radical Tour Grit pickleball paddle 4 1/8" grip — red, SpinGrid carbon for control & spin

The HEAD Radical Tour Grit is a red, high-performance pickleball paddle built for versatile players who want a balanced mix of spin, control and punch with a 4 1/8" grip.

Blending HEAD's SpinGrid textured surface, Toray T700 carbon fiber construction and a strategically engineered foamed core, the Radical Tour Grit is designed to deliver reliable touch at the net and decisive power on drives. At 15 mm core thickness and roughly 225 g (7.9 oz), its weight and profile favor quick reactions without sacrificing ball response. The 4 1/8" (105 mm) grip option provides a secure hold for players who prefer a slightly thicker handle for two-handed backhands or extra wrist stability.

How does the Radical Tour Grit produce more spin?

Spin comes from the SpinGrid textured hitting surface combined with the reactive carbon fiber face. Micro-texture patterns bite the ball at contact while the rigid Toray T700 carbon adds snap to the stroke, increasing topspin and sidespin potential without requiring extra swing speed.

• SpinGrid surface for enhanced ball bite and consistent spin.
• Toray T700 carbon fiber face that amplifies snap through contact.
• Lightweight construction keeps swing speed up for spin generation.

What balance of power and control can I expect?

The Radical Tour Grit targets players who need a midpoint between control and aggression. The 15 mm foamed core delivers a solid feel with dependable pop, while the paddle shape and graphite/carbon face provide enough leverage for aggressive drives without losing touch on soft shots.

• Traditional dynamic power shape for accessible power potential.
• Foamed core positioned at 3, 9 and 12 o’clock for even weight distribution.
• Graphite/carbon hitting surface offers precision and responsive feedback.

Is the grip and vibration dampening comfortable for long play?

Yes — HEAD's Comfort Grip System and Ergo Grip design reduce vibration and increase comfort during extended sessions. The inlaid PU material softens impact feel and helps maintain a secure hold during fast exchanges and at the non-volley zone.

• Ergo Grip with inlaid PU material for softer feel and reduced vibration.
• Available grip sizes including 98 mm and 105 mm to match hand preference.
• Balanced weight profile helps prevent wrist strain over long matches.

How do the paddle’s specs translate to on-court performance?

The Radical Tour Grit’s dimensions and materials influence its handling: 408 mm length and 198 mm width produce a familiar hitting surface, while a 225 g average weight supports quick reaction play. The 15 mm foamed core creates a stable foundation for volley precision and baseline drives.

• Length 408 mm / 16 in, width 198 mm / 7 7/8 in for standard sweet spot size.
• Thickness 15 mm core for a firm, controlled feel.
• Weight about 225 g / 7.9 oz for versatile maneuverability.

Who is this for? The HEAD Radical Tour Grit is aimed at intermediate to advanced players who want a single paddle that supports both aggressive baseline play and delicate net work. If you value spin capability, a responsive carbon face and the option of a thicker 4 1/8" (105 mm) grip for added stability, this paddle offers a balanced toolset. It’s well suited for players upgrading from entry-level models or those seeking a refined blend of touch and power without giving up comfort during long matches.
