The Rakon 18" Solid Replacement Basketball Rim is a heavy-duty, all-weather wall-mounted hoop replacement with a durable net designed to fit most standard backboards for indoor or outdoor play.

If you need to replace a worn rim or upgrade a basic hoop, this Rakon 18" rim offers a robust, corrosion-resistant option built for everyday use. Engineered for aggressive play and straightforward installation, it comes with the mounting hardware and clear instructions so you can install it on walls or compatible backboards quickly. The rim’s compact 18-inch diameter makes it ideal for home gyms, driveways, garages, recreation centers, and poolside setups where space, durability, and weather resistance matter.

How strong is the Rakon 18" rim for dunking or heavy play?

This rim is built from reinforced steel components and a solid frame that resists bending under forceful rebounds and dunks. Reinforced brackets increase stability when mounted on a wall or backboard, giving a stable feel similar to higher-end hoops.

• Reinforced steel frame for impact resistance
• Heavy-duty mounting brackets for secure attachment
• Designed to withstand repetitive aggressive play
• Solid 18" diameter balances size and durability

Will this replacement rim work with my existing backboard or wall setup?

The Rakon rim is compatible with most standard backboards and includes the hardware needed for typical wall- or backboard-mounted installations. Measure your backboard’s mounting pattern and compare it to the provided bracket dimensions to confirm fit; the package is intended to be a drop-in upgrade for many common systems.

• Universal-style mounting brackets fit common backboards
• Comes with bolts and installation instructions
• Can be used for wall-mounted hoops in garages or basements
• Suitable for many public and residential setups

How does the rim hold up to weather and outdoor conditions?

Materials are selected to resist rust and fading, so the rim and the included net keep performing through rain, sun, and occasional snow. The corrosion-resistant finish lengthens the product’s life span, reducing the need for frequent replacements in outdoor environments.

• Corrosion-resistant coating protects the steel frame
• Fade-resistant net maintains appearance season after season
• Built for poolside, driveway, or backyard exposure
• Low maintenance compared with untreated rims and nets

How easy is installation and what tools are required?

Installation is straightforward with the supplied hardware and instructions, and most homeowners can complete the job with standard tools. Typical requirements include a drill, socket set, level, and a helper for alignment when fastening the rim to a wall or backboard.

• Includes mounting bolts and clear step-by-step instructions
• Standard household tools (drill, level, wrench) usually suffice
• Two-person lift recommended for safer alignment
• Quick swap-in for many existing rims to minimize downtime

It’s especially useful for families converting garages or driveways into practice spaces, poolside courts where moisture resistance matters, and anyone looking to replace a tired rim without buying a whole backboard.
