Schutt F7 AiR Youth Football Helmet, Molded Gloss Black, Size X-Large, Featherweight Virginia Tech 5-Star Shell

The Schutt F7 AiR Youth Football Helmet delivers a pro-inspired, ultra-lightweight shell with Virginia Tech 5-star performance for young players.

Designed to bring advanced head protection to youth athletes, the Schutt F7 AiR Youth (Virginia Tech 5-Star Helmet) blends a featherlight construction with adjustable comfort systems. It meets and exceeds NOCSAE youth requirements while offering technologies adapted from professional models, so smaller players benefit from the same engineering focus on impact management and fit.

How does the F7 AiR Youth balance protection and low weight?

The F7 AiR Youth uses a refined shell geometry and internal structure to reduce mass without sacrificing impact performance. Independent lab testing at Virginia Tech rated the F7 family highly, reflecting its strong energy management across a range of impact locations.

• Featherweight F7 shell profile engineered for reduced inertia
• Virginia Tech 5-star rating for top-tier impact performance
• Meets and exceeds NOCSAE youth certification standards

What comfort and fit features help keep the helmet secure?

The helmet combines the Helmet Stabilization System (HSS) jaw pads with an inflatable comfort liner so you can fine-tune how it sits and moves on the head. These elements work together to reduce helmet shift and preserve comfort through long practices and game play.

• Inflatable Air Liner lets you dial in a snug, personalized fit
• HSS jaw pads add stability around the jaw and lower head
• Integrated padding layout designed for consistent contact and comfort

What hardware and assembly come with the helmet?

The F7 AiR Youth ships ready to wear with a securely attached carbon steel facemask — the most common facemask material used across football levels. No separate assembly for the facemask means coaches and parents can put the helmet into service quickly.

• Factory-attached carbon steel facemask for immediate use
• No extra tools or facemask installation required out of the box
• Durable chinstrap mounting points compatible with Schutt accessory options

What makes this model a youth-specific option versus adult helmets?

The F7 AiR Youth is scaled for smaller head shapes and designed to satisfy youth-sized impact profiles and testing thresholds. Materials and interior components are optimized for lighter weight while retaining the energy-management strategies of the full-size F7 lineup.

• Sized and certified for youth players and testing protocols
• Interior components tuned for smaller headforms and fit range
• Lightweight construction minimizes neck strain during play
