The SMITH Method Helmet in Matte Black (Large) is a versatile snow helmet featuring Mips impact protection, Smith's AirEvac ventilation, and certified safety for resort riding and park laps.

Engineered for riders who split time between park tricks, groomer laps and all-mountain tours, the Method blends modern safety tech with comfortable, adjustable fit options. It pairs seamlessly with Smith goggles, manages airflow to reduce fogging, and offers removable ear pads for warmth or audio integration.

How does the Method helmet protect me on the mountain?

The helmet uses a multi-layer approach to reduce rotational and linear forces in a crash while meeting industry safety standards. It includes the Mips Safety Protection System and passes ASTM F 2040 and CE EN 1077:2007 CLASS B certifications.

• Mips liner reduces rotational forces during oblique impacts.
• Certified shell construction meets recognized resort and freestyle standards.
• Strategic shell geometry to disperse impact energy across the helmet.

Will this helmet keep my goggles clear and my head cool?

Yes—Smith's AirEvac ventilation and eight fixed vents work to pull warm air out while allowing cool air in, helping prevent lens fogging. The ventilation is designed to integrate with Smith eyewear, so the helmet and goggles perform as a system.

• Eight fixed vents balance airflow without compromising warmth.
• AirEvac channels direct warm air away from goggle lenses.
• Compatibility with Smith goggles reduces gaps and improves seal.

How does the fit system feel for different head shapes and accessories?

The Method uses a self-adjusting lifestyle fit system that conforms to a range of head shapes for day-long comfort. It’s beanie-compatible and has removable Snapfit SL2 ear pads that provide warmth and accept audio chips.

• Self-adjusting fit flexes for a snug, personalized feel.
• Beanie-compatible design lets you add a thin hat underneath.
• Removable ear pads are warm and audio-chip compatible for music or calls.

What practical features make this helmet convenient on resort days?

The Method balances protection and convenience with a lightweight profile, easy buckle, and goggle-integration features that simplify transitions between runs and lifts. Its removable components make it adaptable to changing weather and personal preferences.

• Simple buckle system for quick on/off between lifts.
• Removable ear pads for changing temperature and audio needs.
• Low-profile styling that pairs with a range of goggles and jackets.
