NVAAV Soft Shell Flag Football Helmet — Youth Rugby Scrum Cap, Universal Fit with Removable Mouth Guard

NVAAV soft shell flag football helmet is a lightweight, breathable youth rugby scrum cap that pairs an adjustable skull protector with a removable mouth guard for low-profile head and dental protection.

This soft shell helmet blends a flexible polyester-EVA build, multiple vents and elastic adjustment to deliver a snug, comfortable fit for kids and teens who play flag football, rugby drills, seven-on-seven, or contact-prone training. Designed as a universal-size cap with a two-size mouthguard system and included storage box, it balances protection, breathability and minimal bulk so young athletes can move freely while reducing impact force to skin and teeth during practice.

How does this helmet fit different head sizes?

The NVAAV cap uses an elastic back band and adjustable chin strap to conform to a broad range of head circumferences up to about 24 inches (62 cm). The universal sizing and stretch materials let you tighten or loosen the fit quickly before play, and the lightweight construction prevents slippage during motion.

• Universal fit supporting up to 24" (62 cm) head circumference
• Adjustable chin strap and back elastic band for fine tuning
• Stretch fabric and foam layers that adapt to child and teen head shapes

What protection features are included and how should I use them?

This rugby-style soft shell combines a polyester outer, EVA foam inner padding and a removable mouth guard to reduce direct contact forces and protect teeth and soft tissue. Use the chin strap to secure the cap, select the appropriate mouth guard size (S or L), and store the guard in the included box when not in use.

• Polyester shell with EVA foam cushioning for surface-impact absorption
• Two mouth guard sizes: S for ages 5–12, L for 12+; removable and washable
• Included storage box keeps mouth guard clean between uses

Is the helmet comfortable and suitable for long practices?

Yes—at approximately 110 grams, the cap weighs very little and includes multiple ventilation openings to help move heat and moisture away from the head. The soft construction and breathable design let athletes wear it for extended sessions without the bulk or pressure of a rigid helmet.

• Lightweight build (~110 g) reduces neck strain during drills
• Ventilation ports improve airflow and sweat evaporation
• Soft, flexible materials reduce chafing and allow natural movement

Which sports and situations is this helmet best for?

The cap is made for non-tackle and limited-contact sports where lightweight padding and dental protection are desired. It’s popular for flag football, youth rugby training, seven-on-seven, touch rugby and adaptive or special-needs activities where a low-profile, comfortable head covering is preferred.

• Flag football, seven-on-seven and touch rugby practices
• Youth and adolescent training sessions requiring dental protection
• Adaptive sports and special-needs play where soft protection is needed

Who is this for? Parents, coaches and youth athletes who want a low-profile, breathable head cover that adds a layer of impact padding and comes with a dedicated mouth guard will find the NVAAV soft shell rugby cap a practical choice. It’s aimed at children and teens up to about 24" head circumference who need a comfortable, adjustable solution for practices and non-tackle games. If you need rigid helmet-level protection for full-contact tackle play, choose a certified hard-shell model instead. For general training, touch games and extra dental safety, this cap offers a balanced, lightweight option with easy care and included accessories.
