Discraft INNOVA Glow Disc Golf Starter Set, 5-Disc Glow Set, 140–180 g — Beginner Kit with Glow DX Putter, Midrange & Fairway Driver

This set bundles four classic Innova DX plastic molds chosen to cover every basic shot a new player needs: controlled putting, dependable approaches, fairway placement and distance drives with manageable turnover or straight flights. Discs are in the 140–180 gram weight range to suit most beginners and smaller hands, and the DX glow material makes it easier to find discs after dusk or in dense rough. Colors and stamp designs vary with each production run.

What does each disc do for a beginner?

Each mold in this package fills a distinct role so a new player can practice and develop reliable shot choices. The putter prioritizes control and predictable finishes, the midrange balances speed and accuracy, the fairway driver offers straight flights, and the distance driver provides glide for longer throws.

• DX Aviar Putter — straight line, beadless rim for comfortable grip and accurate short-range control.
• DX Roc Midrange — stable-to-understable at beginner speeds; excellent for consistent approaches and shaping lines.
• DX TL Fairway Driver — Teebird family flight with straighter finish and less fade; good for controlled tee shots.
• DX Valkyrie Driver — turnover-friendly with strong glide for longer carries, useful in tailwind or downhill shots.

How do these discs perform when I’m just learning?

These DX plastic discs are intentionally user-friendly: they fly predictably at lower arm speeds and tend to need less power to reach intended lines. As a set they let you repeat similar shot shapes and learn how angle, release, and power change outcomes.

• Low-to-moderate weights (140–180g) make releases easier for new players and encourage proper form.
• Stable-to-friendly flight ratings reduce unexpected fade and help keep drives in play.
• Glow DX plastic increases visibility for evening practice and improves recovery chances.

Which features affect accuracy and distance?

Flight numbers and rim design influence how a disc reacts to speed and spin. The Aviar’s beadless rim and low speed promote touch shots, the Roc’s higher glide aids controlled distance, the TL’s combination of speed and glide keeps fairway shots accurate, and the Valkyrie’s higher speed plus glide extends carry with a mild turnover.

• Aviar: Speed 2, Glide 3, Turn 0, Fade 1 — putt and approach precision.
• Roc: Speed 4, Glide 4, Turn 0, Fade 3 — reliable midrange stability.
• TL: Speed 7, Glide 5, Turn -1, Fade 2 — straight fairway flight with controlled finish.
• Valkyrie: Speed 9, Glide 4, Turn -2, Fade 2 — distance with turnover and extended carry.

This set is PDGA approved for casual and competitive play, so you can use it at most courses and events while narrowing down which disc types you prefer as your skills develop.
